The Thomas Covenant Chronicles, great plot, but we don't need an insanely complicated and completely artificial psychoanalytical analysis of what was really just a bit of small talk. If someone like David Eddings or Sara Douglass re-wrote them I would snap them up. Good as a soporific though.

Currently reading through the Belgariad and Mallorean series by David Eddings. For the 8th time. It's a bit of a fall-back for when I've finished any new stuff.

I've finished LOTR 3-4 times, though the Frodo and Sam parts can be a bit boring. You want tedious? Try reading The Silmarillion :-D
