Incredibly good advice. Do everything you can to make sure the research project and supervisor are a good 'fit' for you. If I had my time again, I'd have paid a lot more attention before jumping into an honours project at USyd - what looks good in writing isn't always the reality of daya to day...
Quick comment: I did GR at MQ in 3rd year (& yes of course there is some elementary tensor math) but they have now discontinued this course next year, any GR will be done as part of a Masters.
At USyd, GR is currently an honours unit and their structure for choosing honours courses is really...
Thanks for such honest & comprehensive info. 24 Units in 2 years is Nuts!! The trouble with no breaks is that you don't get time to even reflect on what you've learnt, does not seem optimal.
So if anyone else is interested I got told SSAF has not yet been issued and might be ~ Mar 10th! This is the first time in my 3+ years at MQ that the fee hasn't been asked prior to semester starting, I think?
Check your unit guide (if it's out yet).. https://unitguides.mq.edu.au/units
Or wait for your iLearn to become active, this can be as late as the Monday of week1 (but only if you're doing physics!), most will come active the week or weekend before uni starts - don't panic, you'll be fine, all...
So in a blaze of no publicity, MQ seem to have dropped the People / Planet requirement for anyone starting a degree this year?
I heard from a staff member that this was the case a few weeks back but couldn't find any info. A look at this years handbooks and the requirement seems to be gone...
Anyone have any link to the 'important dates' for 2019? On the website I get only the 2018 + S3 but nothing for this year - i'm trying to work out when mid-sem is in S1.. Cheers :)
Re: Kepler's Laws of Planetary Motion - Total energy of Circular and non-circular orb
My apologies, I thought maybe it might have been a 'research yourself' type investigation/project similar to the extension science unit. It's certainly feasible to quote results (such as the integral I...
Back in the day there used to be Diplomas & Advanced Certificates in Electrical Engineering (taught at TAFE) that would have electronic units. But i don't know the landscape of Tafe courses these days.. see your school careers people?
I think you are confusing a trade description of 'electrician' with a electronics type vocation?
Electricians deal with the distribution of supply from power stations to the home and there are niche components of what a typical "electrician" may get up too in those environments. The only...
