As from today, the link to users.tpg.com.au/nanahcub/me2.html no longer works and now redirects to a page saying all websites at users.tpg.com.au/username "has reached End of Life and has closed" : https://support.tpg.com.au/tpg-members-webspace-end-life

The website has now moved to https://4unitmaths.com/me2.html but many of the links are broken and will have to be fixed which I will do soon. One of the most popular links was users.tpg.com.au/nanahcub/otherpapers.html which is now at https://4unitmaths.com/otherpapers.html .

I had prior knowledge that this would happen and retrieved all the files from the tpg server before the shutdown - but it's going to be a pain to fix all the links!

Hi buchanan, have amended original post with new link
Now there is a new pain which, although different in nature, will require a similar response.

It seems that someone on angelfire may have created malicious content as detected by CyRadar, SOCRadar, Phishing Database and Trustwave as currently indicated at https://www.virustotal.com/gui/domain/angelfire.com

1.png
However these are only 4 of 94 security vendors flagging the angelfire domain as malicious

2.png

This has prompted some telcos to block the entire angelfire domain - thereby making every user of angelfire collateral damage including https://www.angelfire.com/ab7/fourunit and although there is no malicious content there we now see things like this:
3.png
It hasn't been shut down as such like the tpg was, and so can still be accessed via vpn.

That's not an ideal situation though so the plan is to move the files (hundreds of them!) elsewhere and relink them.

In some ways this is even worse than the tpg situation for 2 reasons: 1. There are many more files ; 2. Damage to reputation.

Although this particular angelfire site doesn't generate any money, I know that there are several others that do. That their legitimate websites have also been blocked may therefore lead to class action lawsuit against telstra for financial damage.

The logic telstra used is like saying, well if someone does something bad on the internet, let's ban the entire internet for everyone.

It's total overkill. I contacted telstra about it and they responded by giving me the information from CyRadar, SOCRadar, Phishing Database and Trustwave. I tried in vain to convince telstra their reaction was overkill but they did commit to instigate a review of the situation.

Anyway I'll try and fix it, which will take some time, but for now some files on my angelfire site can only be accessed via vpn if you use telstra.

For now though there is a mirror of https://www.angelfire.com/ab7/fourunit at https://4unitmaths.com/angelfiremirror.html
