literally how did they get 5.1 eV as the y-int?? is it not 5 x 10^-19 JOULES? if you convert it to eV its just 3.12 eV?

Yes, the suggested value of the work function is not consistent with the data given.
The literature value of the work function of nickel is about 5.1 eV so it would appear that the error is in the scale drawn on the graph
