Anybody know the exact worth of EAS disadvantage categories?

Im eligible for 4 at the moment: - Refugee Status - Low Socio-Economic Index Area - Financial difficulties - Severe Family Disruption I hope I am able to get the 10 points I need for UNSW. How would this work? Are points given by category, or by how badly it has affected by education?

    Bio Predications

Also, anybody struggling with those epidemiology questions / those that show a map of e.g. Africa and Malaria cases and making us draw conclusions or when they give us a case study :( I dislike those so much

    Bio Predications

For many science/stem based subjects, you don't really need anybody marking them for you really. Just keep doing them and maybe if you get those 9 marker "evaluate" questions you could ask a friend to mark it for you and get better at it!

    Bio Predications

i hate those ;( every source is telling me each hormone is responsible for a different function. It's even worse to study anatomy in the library! anybody got notes on female/pregnancy hormones and their functions (alongside placental formation, like the whole 36 week duration of a pregnancy...

Maths standard 2 post exam thread

as far as I'm aware, its what a raw mark gets pushed to due to how relatively well it does compared to the state + subject difficulty + other factors. Obviously physics will have a lower cut-off raw mark for a band 6 (usually in the 80-85 range cut off) for a band 6, whereas something like math...

I think I wrote my student number wrong..

Don't NESA supervisors check your paper before signing it AND check the student number is consistent with the blue little slip you sign / table sticker that tells you your number? For math standard, we had our number on the short answer booklet but not the multiple choice question booklet...

Maths standard 2 post exam thread

it honestly can...the exam was something for sure. 2020 wasn't that hard and alignment pushed an 82 to a 91 (ik it was new syllabus but still). We can only hope.

    ATAR estimation?

I go to a school that is in the 400-500 ranking. (Estimating that is) It's also to note that, according to my teachers: * english advanced was roughly the same difficulty as the typical HSC paper * Biology was also the same difficulty * Investigating was also the same difficulty * Math...

    Thanks for the clarification!

    HSC Marks and Band 6's

Oh so Alignment is where they alter the value of a given score so it can be a HSC mark? I am a bit confused about the difference between alignment and scaling though

    HSC Marks and Band 6's

Hey everyone, I just wanted to post this to gain an insight into how this works. So obviously, to get a band 6 in a subject you do need a mark of 90-100 (as suggested in the NESA website) However, is this mark scaled or raw? For physics, in 2020 roughly 12.4% of students achieved a band 6...

UAC English language requirements results still pending?

I applied to UAC for 5 Engineering UTS courses. It says my English Requirments are still pending. For context I was born overseas and starting Australian schooling in Year 3, and I am currently in English Advanced (top half of class, Averaging a low A) Point is, I can speak English. I don't...

Redeeming myself in the HSC exam?

So it would be worth putting effort into? I've heard all sorts of things from 'experts' on the topic of HSC scaling and such, some suggested that your HSC marks will only be a reflection of how you did internally (like for example, If i got 7th/30th then If i got 2nd in the HSC exams for my...

Redeeming myself in the HSC exam?

So basically to keep it short i did horribly in the math standard trial exam couple days ago and Im very sure my ranking will go from 1st to 3rd/4th (considering the others have not found the exam hard, which im pretty sure everyone did). Because of this I feel like theres no hope for this...

Feeling really demotivated and helpless in english advanced

tbh its a whole ass dilemma or whether i should drop or not. Couple of my mates have dropped because of the intense workload. My next assessment result will most likely determine whether im gonna drop or not.

Feeling really demotivated and helpless in english advanced

thank you for this advice 😭I relate so much with essays being shredded to atoms. It does suck but the harsher the feedback is, the more effective it is. I sent a draft a day ago and it went well (from a big paragraph, only 2 sentences needed rewording and some grammatical mistakes) I will try...

Feeling really demotivated and helpless in english advanced

I'm not an English person. I'm more of STEM, not one who reads, analyses, etc etc. I picked English advanced for the purpose of it scaling higher but at this point I do not really care as much. The entire subject just... its not for me. I feel its useless. I'm hesitant to drop it but I do want...

For those with 90+ ATAR, how did you achieve it?

For people who have achieved an ATAR of 90 and over, what did you do in order to achieve it? Did you have tutoring or did you study endlessly?

Is turoring worth it for me in english advanced

I suck at writing essays and It seems like I can't improve no matter how hard I try. I'd like to improve but Idk what resources I have available other than drafting. Is tutoring worth it?
