    Induction q: n! >or= 2^(n-1)

    For n = 1 LHS = 1 and RHS = 1 so n= 1 is true Now Assume true for n = k k!\geq 2^{k-1} Prove true for n = k+1, that is (k+1)!\geq 2^{k} LHS = (k+1)! \\ = (k+1)(k)! \\ \geq (k+1)2^{k-1} \ \ \ \ \ \ \ (From assumption)\\ \geq 2.2^{k-1} \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ (k+1\geq 2)\\ = 2^k Therefore...

    Polynomials/Complex

    You start by using the Quadratic formula, so you get z = \frac{-3i\pm \sqrt{(3i)^2-4(2)}}{2} = \frac{-3i\pm \sqrt{17}i}{2}

    Re: HSC 2014 4U Marathon i) No since the output only consist of positive numbers, which is only part of the output domain of the function ii) I think yes haha since you can get a complex number after squaring a complex number iii) No since you'll only result in real values as the output...

    Discrete mathematics question

    I do not know the marking criteria as i'm a first year noob. But I would say: For method 2, you should add that all of the elements in the codomain has at least one corresponding value in the domain.
