    B Science

firstly you may want to consider if engineering is for you, ok you may end up getting your engineering degree with fails in the first year, then you scrape all passes for the remaining 4 years. how would that look to a potential employer? you need a lot more than just a pass average if you are...

What subject to drop for 2009 HSC and Newcastle Uni entry

you could always just stay in the class untill after the trials, then drop it officially before the HSC exam. that way your poor Maths mark wont be included in your final transcript. but you would be at least familiar with some of the calculus that would be helpfull for you at uni level...

    Bad Teachers

teachers is the most important aspect of learning. teachers should be there not only to "teach" but to motivate, encourage, help students on a case by case basis. not just to clock in and out and finish up when the bell rings. but most teachers cant be fucked, and teaching in general has...

BIT requiring Maths ext, and physics?

if you had to drop 3u maths, then dont bother with BIT or engineering related course. 3u is comparatively a walk in the park compare to uni level maths. i doubt u are cut out for the rigors the maths requires in these courses. lots of students drop out of engineering saying how hard it is...

    gen maths. the DISADVANTAGES

well all depends on your other subjects and what your definition of good uai. if come only top 20% then you will get scaled down ALOT. if you do general you should be looking to come top 5%, 90% raw mark, u will wont get disadvantaged by the scaling. get anything lower and you will get badly...

What subject to drop for 2009 HSC and Newcastle Uni entry

53% is really awefull for 2u maths. u would be in the lowest 10%. u wont relly be disadvantaged in commerce if u havent done 2u maths. there maybe a few references to calculus like the instantanous rate of change, but thats about it.

    Significance of GPA

well if u look at the NRSL index, the a GPA of 6.0 over 3 years is worth 98.5UAI. that makes it top 1.5% and on average, GPA's will tend to fall over the period of 3 years, as 200 and 300 level subjects are significantly harder than 1st year subjects...

How bad is bad? (Engineering @ Usyd)

get a gpa of 6+ and u will get picked up no matter which uni u went to. but really only 2% of the students end up getting an overall gpa of 6

    Significance of GPA
