    usyd enrolment

nope. you don't need to pay anything at enrolment, unless you want to pay some or all of your HECS upfront (but if you're an australian citizen, that's not compulsory).

Re: how does the timetable work? probably best to email the degree coordinator and ask them what the process is.

    Uni Rank

university rankings are the shittest, most misleading things ever. their methodology is usually trash, and they don't actually tell you anything useful. (OH WOW sydney is at 35 and monash at 38, so i'll have to go to sydney whatever my degree/subject is because obviously sydney is better than...

    usyd enrolment

Re: how does the timetable work? at the first station in the enrolment room, they have massive piles of enrolment packs* personalised for each student. so probably if you go at the wrong time your pack won't be in the pile, which means you can't enrol. * this isn't as exciting as it sounds...

nope. you can count them towards an ASNS major or a GOVT major, but not both.

    Youth Allowance and Independence Test

if you're classified 'independent' by centrelink, by fulfilling at least one of the independence criteria, there's no parental income test.

    proving income for youth allowance

there are a few different things they accept. payslips, an assessment notice from the ATO, a group certificate, or a letter from the employer (on company letterhead) stating how much you earned in the period. presumably you have a group certificate from the playcentre? if so you can use that.

    B Arts question

there are almost always vacancies in the late round. with a UAI of 89 you shouldn't have any trouble getting in during either the main or late rounds. like karmakitten, i've heard around and about that UNSW arts is going downhill due to budget cuts, amalgamations and so on, but don't take my...

    enrolment variation

you can usually change your pre-enrolment up to the first week of january. then they close it and you have to wait until enrolment variations become available, which i think is in early to mid february.

    B Arts question

progression has been streamlined significantly so there's no distinction between 'second year level' and 'third year level' in arts. in first year you do 1000-level units, in second and third years you do 2000-level units. pass six 2000-level units in the one subject and you have your major.* so...

    Cityrail- Flexipass and travelpass

flexipass is a rail pass which gives you unlimited travel between the two stations you choose. like a weekly, except it lasts for longer. travelpass is a rail/bus/ferry pass which gives you unlimited travel within the zones you pick. it's good value if you travel to different places across your...

    B Arts question

at usyd, arts majors are generally done across 2nd and 3rd years. (science majors are done only in 3rd year though.) to answer the OP's question, you have to do six senior units in your chosen subject over the final two years of your degree to get a major. but to qualify for those senior...

    Main Round offers??

depends where the petrol station is. usually a paper's first edition is complete early in the evening (like 7pm) and then goes to the printers, so it can be at shops close-ish to the distribution points by late evening.
