Have you read the subjects review for ENGL1002? It use to be an "online" subject, so you didn't have to attend lectures. Now they've changed it so that not only do you have to get through the boring theory work, you have to attend lectures too. It's really boring but it's much easier than 1007...

Do what el gwapo suggested. You'll be taking the same first year subjects as all other education students anyway and then can try to transfer after the 1st year. Plus, do you really want to go to UNSW? I mean aside from the extra travel (which is a hassle honestly), isn't USyd's Arts facaulty...
