umm how do you find out the valence by drawing dot diagrams.. will it work for transition metals??

so how do you determine the valence for tranition metals say.. silver nitrate?? i know silver is 1+ because it is AgNO3, but is there any method to calculate it??

i spent the least time on english, followed by sdd, then maths.. then.. i have no faith in sdd, its just.. full of bullshits which are advantaged to good english students.. as im a below average english student, i just cant bullshit i chose sdd because i thought it was mainly programming...

i know people who did ESL last year and got above 98, now ESL is scaled down if you dont already know, so surely people who is doing standard english can get over 90s
