thats why its called "Past Papers by Topic" :) it might be useful for some people who dont wanna do HSC papers, or for school assessments when they dont wanna download HSC papers just yet. and the commentary might be useful for some people. I haven seen Excel.. maybe its better...

to get the cartesian eqn: find x = ... t (by integration), then make t the subject then put it into they eqn for y after you've found it (by integration) and simplify.

For most polynomial questions, including this one, I think you can. But if you can see a way to do it the better way, do it that way. It is a good idea not to use the given result. And BTW the word "show" doesn't necessarily mean you can use the given result. Sometimes they use this to mean...
