    Try to tell them that you don't need that subject for what you want to do after high school and (assuming your marks aren't great in that subject) show them that it is your worst subject and won't even count. I did the same thing when I dropped economics

    It's because 93 will align with around 97, and for engineering, it's quite hard to get much higher than that because almost everyone will miss something in the exam by accident. Most people lose marks in the drawings cause they forget a few smaller details.

    You would most likely have to be ranked 1 internally and in the hsc get a raw mark of at least 92-93 based on past years in the hsc. This is just for a low state rank btw. To get 1st in the state your raw mark should probably be 96+.

    I would say still you should most likely stay in adv cause your marks still aren't awful even tho you are not in the top half.     Should I drop?

    I just got my prelim English advanced results back and I did pretty badly just missing out on a pass, I was wondering if would it be beneficial for me to drop down to standard English or if could I still get a better atar by staying in English advanced?
