    History Ext MP

The best thing to do it to follow the main part of the syllabus. Pick something that relates to one or more of the 5 key questions. For mine I basically just analysed a work of an 'ancient' historian, and ended up using the historian in section I of the exam. The course itself is quite tough. In...

    'construction and recording over time'

Although the exam is already over, I should mention that the markers do not like chronologically structured essays. Every single year they emphasise it in the marking notes.

Out of curiosity, are you doing this through Dubbo?

    Pages?

Section I: 17 pages Section II: 17 pages The amount I wrote really suprised me considering the Trial was 10 pages and practise papers were 8-12 pages. In hindsight, I was quite annoyed english was the first exam. As the exams have gone on, my writing speed has increased a fair bit - I wrote 25...

    Multiple choice marking???

Isn't the 'cheapness' of the multiple choice marking the main reason why multiple choice is being implemented in the histories and increased in the sciences?

    Exam Thoughts

I agree. The amount of effort put in should be equal to something.

    Exam Thoughts

Loved it. Suprised myself by writing 17 pages per section. I wrote about Ranke, Cuthoys and Docker, Herodotus/Thucydides and Elton/carr. For section II I did the crusades, and talked about Phillips, Runicman and Riley-Smith. Very happy overall. It still won't count for my ATAR though. But...

    History Extension HSC Exam 2009

In my opnion it is ok, it is what I do. Ultimately the question does say "at least two sources" - you fufill that requirement. I use 4-5 depending on the stimulus and/or question and the depth of knowledge I have about that historian on the given topic. I similarily use other historians in...

What are you using for section I?

From what I have heard and read, it basically does not align at all. If you check in the technical forum, in 2003 a raw mark of 42 aligned to 43. It is quite ridiculous for an extension subject personally. So the raw mark needed for an E4 is most probably a 43-44.

Here are my text-books and piles of work/notes. Of all the text-books, I own like one, the majority are owned by the school.

    The Transistors In Australia question

I spoke to my teacher - who is a marker, about this after the exam. She said that you most probably won't get full marks unless you link it specifically to Australia, since the question mentions it specifically. At the time, the only thing she could think of was to link in large distances for...

    History Extension HSC who's ready????

It depends on the question. The question may be an 'analyse this quote...', or it could be a question regarding the construction/purpose/... of history. As far as I know, you answer the question with close reference to the source and your own opinion. Personally, I have been hounded in my essays...

My answers (not including long response)

Shouldn't it be quite big, since c=wavelength *frequency. The wavelengths are 10^-9, therefore the the frequency should be around around 2*10^15. Though I have probably done something ridiculously stupid.

    General Thoughts: Physics

I did something similar, wrote a small amount on the Chandrasekar limit and the white dwarf, a very small amount compared to the rest of the response though. Although it didn't have a letter on it, the dotted line did go there. Eastiest Astro I've seen tbh.
