Everyone seems to be on the topic that the kid was bullied from being fat. As I remember from the photo of him in his school photo that appeared on the front page of some paper, he wasn't actually fat. (But he did have orange hair and that imho is a reason to tease someone:P)

I thought you had to wear school uniform...the only thing I've read contrary to that is on the languages speaking timetable saying students don't have to wear school uniform to those exams.

I have a superiority complex and would under no circumstances associate myself with low marks:P To the OP. The reason why SAM wasn't accurate was because your marks aren't comparable to the HSC marks you may receive. Your marks at school depend on how hard the teacher set the exam etc however...

Try and study in another place with better lighting (lol I'm being serious) And it might be that the desk and chair aren't the right size for each other
