    Semester 1 2012 Timetables!

Kinda annoyed that I have a 1 hour lecture on Monday (cannot change it, one of those fixed lectures with no alternatives) especially since it takes me 4 hours combined there and back :/ So will probably use that day either for the gym, library etc. :) Also, yes, just 3 subjects. Not too good...

Travel - Which is better for a Uni student?

MyMulti is so much more convenient, not to mention you also get to go on the prepay buses if you wish, so you don't have to spend extra time waiting for people to fiddle with their change. I find them just less hassle overall. I'll be getting a mymulti3 weekly, it's not so easy for me to drop...

Got an ATAR of 54, what is the best alternative to get into uni?

If you can travel to the central coast or newcastle, you could look into the Newstep Program run by Newcastle Uni. It's like a foundation year. I did the mature age students version (Open Foundation) last year, and I got marks good enough that I've been admitted to B Science @ UNSW this year...

Full time load - 3 or 4 subjects per semester?

Oh excellent! Thanks dotslikeme, must've missed that part of the handbook :) I honestly don't mind finishing later/taking summer school. I burned out with 4 subjects/semester, but I did great with 3.

    Which maths for Neuroscience major?

If it's your major requirement and it doesn't recommend the other maths subject as a 'recommended elective' I wouldn't bother taking it, because it seems they deem statistics to be enough maths to complete further coursework in that major. I guess however if you want to take more maths, and like...

Full time load - 3 or 4 subjects per semester?

Can you be considered a full time student if you only take 3 subjects a semester? When I was at UTS, 3-4 subjects was a full time study load for the semester, and I took 3 subjects a semester and was considered a full time student. The handbook says "At UNSW, a normal full-time enrolment for...

    SCIF1121 or SCIF1131

Quick question. SCIF1011, is it pretty much the same course content as the other two listed above? I've got SCIF1011 lined up for this semester, and honestly don't know what to expect :/

So what is your average day at uni like?

It's a relaxed or as difficult as you want to make it. There's nothing crazy about a day at uni, provided you aren't backed up with classes/labs from 9am to 8pm (it can happen, but rarely). So yeah, turn up to class, another class, go eat or chat with whoever, go back for another class, go home...

    Alternetive ways to uni?

"You shouldn't rely on mature age as entry and you shouldn't expect to get into uni even if you have completed a tafe diploma unless its A. at a low demand course B. at a crap uni." ^ Whilst you're correct in saying that mature age alone is not sufficient for entry, if we're discussing age...

how do you find out your blood type

the only way involves a needle i am afraid. so you may as well go get a blood test done, just as part of a checkup anyway, and then ask them to let you know what blood type you are.

    forbidden love

do you really want the hassle of a high school 'relationship', especially if you are going out with someone from your school. If things turn for the worse, pretty much the entire grade will know almost every little detail, then you just end up getting pissed off because everyone knows your...
