    Tutor

Ontopic: Tutoring does help per se, however it's up to the student to put in effort. A teacher alone will do nothing, jsut waste your money, however tutoring can be more beneficial than self-study simply because of the reassuring presence of someone else to guide you.

    Free Period?

Yeah i go to same school (James Ruse). maximum units that can be allotted is 13. Each units is 5 periods. So I do 12, I have 5 frees per fortnight. I'm pretty sure some time through Year 12 I'll have dropped to 10 units, so I'll have 15 as well. I sometimes use frees for work, mainly they're...

    Free Period?

I get 5 per fortnight. I wish I could do EX1 morning classes, so I'd have 10. Technically I have a triple free on Wednesday, but it's normally taken up by Sport, which is compulsory, so I don't actually have frees =) if it's raining I just go home.

    Fountain Pens!

Do they bleed through the page? Because if they don't, the only thing stopping em from buying them is the fact my current pens rub out. but they run out quite quickly. Which fountain pens do not.

what kind of subject marks do u need to 95+

Lol where I'm looking to score at ~95% aligned in everything, Modern will kill Economics, which in turn will trump Chemistry which will beat 2U Maths. So My Maths wouldn't count if I kept all the same subjects. Hopefully though, I'll be doing MX2, which means my chem won't count. My Advanced...

Which subject is more "prestigious" - English Extension 2 or Mathematics Extension 2?

Re: Which subject is more "prestigious" - English Extension 2 or Mathematics Extensio I'd actually think EX2 is harder, and the return for the amount of work is not as great as the return from MX2. However, since I'm good at English, I think MX2 is the one that holds most prestige for me...

which is harder: modern or ancient history

I like History a lot, but the uncertainty of sources and the Archaeology stuff in Ancient (boring) means I prefer Modern. Hence why I picked Modern over Ancient. Also Modern tends to scale disgustingly well compared to Ancient. In my grade there's 50 people doing Ancient and only 19 doing...

do the hsc people check your toilets?

Most of our exams are in the hall. Also I lol'd at the tampon story. I don't think they'd be able to find out whose book it was, but if you're caught reading it, you're cheating.

Which subject is more "prestigious" - English Extension 2 or Mathematics Extension 2?

Re: Which subject is more "prestigious" - English Extension 2 or Mathematics Extensio MX2. Maybe because I want to do it rather than EX2 (which I can do as well)

do the hsc people check your toilets?

I know one girl in my grade that cheats. She always wears her jacket during exams regardless of weather and always has her hands in her pockets. In addition, she will go to the toilet without fail in the exam. One girl went in as well during a Year 8 exam and saw her cheating. Other than that, I...

is it bad if u go 2 a skool were the dux doesnt get over 90uai

If you get 100 UAI you dux the grade at Ruse. Simple really. So we had 8 100s, i.e. 8 duxes. But we still had one 59 UAI. Meaning a good dux means shitall for you unless you're dux.

    Year 11 half yearly

I got half yearlies term 2 week 2. Mostsubjects have extra assessments as well, so half yearly is shorter and worth less marks. For Maths though it's worth 30% of our Prelim report and 100% of half yearly.

Is hsc English a real subject?

I do however agree it shouldn't have to count for your HSC. I reckon it shoudl be compulsory, but it shouldn't have to count for your UAI.

Is hsc English a real subject?

If I want to be a Journalist, a meter maid, a primary school teacher, etc, I honestly doubt I'd need to know much Calculus. And Lawyers would certainly need to know how analyze texts, it's highly useful in analyzing cases and stuff. Maybe not the metaphors and shit but certainly the deeper...

Is hsc English a real subject?

I think by the end of Year 10 you should know language and eloquence anyways. Year 11 and 12 is just comprehending texts and what they mean using those skills, effectively just refining them. I take back my differentiating comment. A business deal is just a very persuasive speech. Not some...
