I went and saw the Ursie's play last week - The Real Inspector Hound. Quite a trippy little piece of theatre. They did a really good job with it though!
Yeah I'm not too sure what I think either. The Chancellor doesn't really do that much, he's more of a figurehead...Chubb's still pretty much in charge.
I think it's doable, but there would be a lot of work involved. I do commerce/law and find the commerce part fairly easy (though I'm doing an easy major - international business) but law involves a lot more work, especially reading.
Like Epic_postings said, if you're a whiz at both maths and...
Well I gave UL a call today and the guy said there shouldn't be any problem getting out of it, though he still has to call me back with more details. I suspect they'll take at least a bit of cash, but we'll see. Driving up tomorrow so I'm quite excited!
Just spoke with a friend of a friend who has a room available in a house in Hawker (about a ten minute drive away). It'll be $160 a week as opposed to $230 at UniLodge, which is really quite a lot. I'm going to give the UL people a call tomorrow to see how much they'll rob me for cancelling...
Yeah this is one of my main concerns about UL. Like Evilo said, this year may be a little different due to the accom. situation, so we can only hope. I was really looking forward to getting involved in the arts events. I suppose we'll have to make more of an effort to get involved in club and...
Tell me about it! It doesn't feel real yet though. I've been packing stuff up most of this evening and I'm going to drive up on Saturday. If I leave 8-9 in the morning I should get there by about 5 or 6 which should be ok.
The thing I'm most worried about is who I'm going to be sharing my...
I think you'll be fine with it. I was doing arts/commerce the last two years, never had more than 12 hours a week (if I chose to go to lectures), worked 18-24 hours and still managed to get pretty decent marks (which I'm sure could've been improved if I didn't waste the majority of my free time...
Yeah I suppose I'll play it by ear once I'm up there. Last year I worked two full days and Saturday mornings per week, but I only had 12 hours at uni.
One shift a week might be enough at this stage, in which case I will go for something 'legal'. As you said (and i've heard it from others as...
I was about to start a thread about this too.
I'm going to need to find a job pretty much as soon as I get there. Trouble is trying to balance it with youth allowance so I'm not working unnecessarily. Even then you can only earn $236 a fortnight before they start to deduct from your allowance...
So when are people moving in? I think I'm going to drive up next Saturday so that I have Sunday to settle in before the O-week craziness starts.
Will there be somewhere to park my car initially? I understand we can't get parking permits for some stupid reason but is there somewhere I can park...
That's great, thanks guys! :)
I think it was the group thing that was confusing me. So for the clash on Tuesday morning I'll just have to miss one of the lectures I suppose - hopefully one of them will be audio streamed. Very happy about Friday too.
