Do you lose marks for having 2 related texts?

Sounds like you didn't read the question Prescribed + related qualifies 'variety' imo I think those who wrote 2 should not be 'penalised', but should not have their 2nd text marked, I would have killed to use my 2nd text but was forced to adapt my 1st into something longer. Damn I feel...

It's a mini essay. Quick thesis, two paragraphs of new analysis, quick conclusion. Weight the insights/theis/conclusion about 1 mark, and 4 marks for the techniques.

    marks?

Just did 2008 Ext1 and got 77/84. I didn't fully get out the last two parts on Q7, and made some very bad mistakes graphing, got the binomial wrong as well. I'll have to do better ;)

    HSC Papers- marks.

2006: 93/120 Marked it very strictly, however being easy on the errors my mark would have been 99/120.

    HSC Papers- marks.

2005: 91/120 --> 76% Q1-5 I killed, full marks. But dropped 14 marks on questions I couldn't attempt, and the rest was part marks lost. Only one 'silly' mistake!

    HSC Papers- marks.

Take it SLOW. All my mistakes are because I skip steps in the algebra or miscalculate fractions. A missed negative sign in resisted motion means the whole thing falls apart! I often start questions too soon as well, rushing into a circular geometery question or probability one and having to...

    HSC Papers- marks.

On 1999-2004 I get in the 90-100 range, highest being 98/120. I am learning not to rush Q1-6, and make no mistakes since I usually don't get very many marks on Q7 and 8 anyway.

    Non-uniform circular motion

I can't see anything in the syllabus about it, I'm not going to study it. Have enough trouble with the uniform stuff anyway

    hard permutations question

This wont work sorry, just like gurmies said "Your method fails to acknowledge that 135792468 is a possibility...as is something like, say, 821345796" I might be wrong but: [4^5 + 3^5 + 2^5 + 1^5]*4! = 31,200 Chose a place for 1, there are 4 spots as you have to allow room for all the...

Phew, I got a big mess as well! Something with In(root3 + 2), thats all I remember. And thanks for the solve on the z^5 question...I didn't think complex unity would even apply :(

Once you know I= J I+J = 2I = the integral which has the 1+e^x cross out. My answer was 1/3

How about the z^5 = 4+4i question, did anyone find more then one root? I sure didn't.

That's a pretty good find, I went for the use of a disparate and grieving tone which is ironic because it's what the other perspective would have. After that I kind of lost it and went on about lack of consideration for the peoples sense of belonging to their home..no irony there :(

Not a bad paper, wasn't very difficult. The explanation of irony was a tougher question then I thought to answer, but the other Q's were fine. Wrote 12 pages in total, botched most of the essay but did a really sweet creative!
