    Ranks and External Marks?

How does the BoS take merge this information? I have heard of two theories. 1) The BoS takes your rank at school. Then they look at a person from your school who got that rank in the externals. Then they give you the mark that person got. 2) The BoS takes your school marks and modulates them...

    Actuarial Studies

Hello, I'm quite interested in this course, doing 4U maths at school. What is the kind of difficulty in this course compared with other courses, e.g. finance. Which are the best universities for doing this? I heard Maq is the best, but UNSW if you can get a co-op program. What about ANU or...

Polynomial question! (Enter if you dare.)

If P(x)=x^6+x^4+x^2+1 show that the solutions of P(x)=0 are among the solutions of the equation x^8-1=0. Hence factorize P(x) over R and The equation x^n +px - q = 0 has a double root show that (p/n)^n + (q/(n-1))^n-1 = 0 Thank you!

    Circle Geo help (Super hard)

Two circles touch internally at A. The tangent at P on the smaller circle cuts the larger circle at Q and R. Prove that AP bisects (Angle)RAQ. Thanks in advance. Edit: This question is question 28 on page 18 of New Senior Mathematics, 3U by Fitzpatrick

    Speed Reading and Writing

Anyone used Sharpie Pen? It's a bit expensive, $6 for two, but it's great, a felt tip that's not too inky when you write slow, but not too dry when you write fast. Apparently I'm the only one who thinks their good though o.O

    circle geometry

Usually the texts books will have it all. For example, Fitzpatrick's New Senior Mathematics, three unit course has it after the introduction. You will also need to know how to apply the rules, so doing some examples would be quite beneficial. Good Luck.

    How do you..

How about you have a two table format in Microsoft Word. Have the syllabus dot points on one side of the table and your notes, in dot points, on the other side. This way you'll only maybe 10 pages. I have a set of chemistry notes that are like 7 pages per topic, cause my memory sucks.

    How'd u answer this!?

We know how many moles of SO2 are there as at 25 deg and 100kPa there are 24.79L/Mole N(SO2)=2.48/24.79 =0.1 moles Since it is dissolved in 1L of water, the concentration is 0.1 mole/L We can write an equation for SO2 reacting with water SO2+H2O->H2SO3 and an equation for the...

    Complex cube roots of unity

    If w is a cube root of unity then, by definition, w^3=1 and w^2+w+1=0 If w is a root of P(x) then P(w)=0 L.H.S =3(w^2)(w^3) + 2w(w^3) + w^3 - 6w^2 - 5w - 4 =3w^2 + 2w + 1 - 6w^2 - 5w - 4 (since w^3=1) =-3w^2 - 3w - 3 =-3(w^2 + w +1) =-3(o) =0 =R.H.S Q.E.D

    Complex Number Questions

Hi, I have 2 questions regarding complex numbers, 1. Is this algebraic identity true? If so, could you prove it? arg(a*b)=arg(a) + arg(b) 2.Let H and K be the points representing the roots of x^2+2px+q where p,q are real and p^2(is less than)q. Find the algebraic relation satisfied by p and q...
