Who has goals of going to Harvard University?

True, it gets you in easier, but anyone who's serious about sports goes to a big state school which has million-dollar coaches and stuff. SAT Reasoning Test doesn't even compare to HSC, but arguably, HSC comapres to SAT Subject Tests. Though AP Subjects compare better.

Who has goals of going to Harvard University?

Nah bro, it doesn't . It doesn't have academic scholarships either. It just has generous financial aid for anyone that NEEDS it, that's all. Furthermore, Harvard players suck at the NFL level, hence there aren't many. There's one Harvard QB right now in the NFL, and he's terrible. The big NFL...

Who has goals of going to Harvard University?

Haha well, I intended more as exaggeration than anything else, but yeah, it's well known that alumni's donations guanrantee you spots at Harvard. Additionally, Affirmative Action laws make it so that they accept more African-Americans and Latin-Americans than Caucasian, Asians or Indians. So...

Who has goals of going to Harvard University?

For undergrad, it's especially hard. Don't worry about the money now (because Harvard's need-blind policy ensures you get as much as you need), just worry about the 4 things you need to get into Harvard: - SAT Reasoning Test, and get above 2200/2400 - SAT Subject Tests and get above 700/800 on...

Nah it's not. It's different for every course, but it's 50% like everything else. That one Cat. B subject can count towards your ATAR. Don't drop it.

Is it true it's best to go to uni in the city your parents live in?

I'd rather be away from home, since my parents are making me pay board and lodging lol.

    I feel ill informed :/

Answers in quote box above as bolded. General advice: - Get enough sleep. - Energy drinks don't work. - Make study your first priority. - Ignore all the talk of ranks. Just aim for 90% marks or above in every assessment you do, and good ranks will follow.

So my teacher told me to stop giving ATAR Estimates...

My friends and I bet over sports and stuff. Betting over ATAR is just stupid.

who's doing international studies combined? and can you work overseas?

My understanding is that you cannot work whilst on a student visa in most countries, unless it's under 20 hours and endorsed by your institution/university.

    So...what's next?

Are we set to receive more welcome packages soon with formal info on O-Week, textbook lists, policies etc.? Or do we just rock up to O-Week and be like "Yeah, we're in uni now"
  19. arjungamer123

economics student wanting a guide on international exchange

That is true. But none of the UC campuses are bad. it's just that UCLA and UCB are exceptional. Plus, you more often than not get what your first choice is, if you're marks are pretty good. That said, UC Santa Barbara is a giant party school. Getting into their would be both financially and...
