If you don't do MATH1151 now then you have to do it in year 2 sem 1 because MATH1151 is only offered in semester 1. This sets you back 1 year :S. As for finance, I think all finance courses are offered both semesters so you can still get a finance major in 3 years doing the first year courses...
It takes 4 hours for blackboard to update with your myunsw timetable. For an Actuarial Major, you should be doing:
Year 1 Sem 1: MATH1151
Year 1 Sem 2: MATH1251, ACTL1001
Year 2 Sem 1: ACTL2001, ACTL2002 (ACTL2001 is also available in summer school if I recall)
Year 2 Sem 2: ACTL2003
Year 3...
Get the course notes for maths...your course might have prescribed texts but the notes might not have been printed yet so it doesn't show up on UNSW bookshop yet :s. As for ACTL2001, I think one of the textbooks isn't used much (don't remember which one) and for ACTL2002, I have no idea but you...
Umm I remember that I had ECON1101 mid sems and MATH1151 calculus quiz on the same day in sem 1 :\. Quite rare for there to be more than 1 quiz in one day even if the tutes are on the same day (at least from my experience)...
I had all my tutes on Monday in Sem 1 last year except the algebra tute which was on Friday. It wasn't too bad tbh but it was quite tiring and it was also a plus that most of the stuff I needed to do were done at the beginning of the week.
This is massive bullcrap.
@OP, do MATH1151 and MATH1251, it's pretty much the same as MATH1141 and MATH1241. Doing 1151 will give you the stats knowledge needed for ACTL1001 and if you dont like ACTL, you can easily go to finance.
Semester 1
ACCT1501
Ease: 9.5/10
I did Accounting as a TVET course during HSC as the 90% of the course is just a repeat of the HSC course. Just understand your debits, credits and stuff...
Lecturer: Trish Strong 4/10 Korean guy 6/10... don't remember the other lecturers
Interest: 2/10...
As long as you do the units needed, you will get the major, however they did it change it to that you can only choose two majors from ASB (previously Comm/Eco kids can get three). Smart choice of subjects will help a lot...
