Let me add to my learned friend's congratulatory message. A v special day indeed for all of you.
And it's so good to learn that JR has reclaimed Agriculture!
anyone know if it'd be possible to write a script to automatically harvest all the information available about every single school from the website?
then we can create simplistic league tables to rank schools more easily and more informatively - like i want to know which school is doing well...
Would it be correct to say: -
1. that publishing complete school rankings on this website, or other websites, would be contrary to law, as a website is a 'document' under the Interpretation Act 1987 (NSW); but
2. that it would not be unlawful for a person outside of NSW to make such...
I know someone who got 99.90 without counting any maths at all, and without any ext english.
So you're wrong.
Scaling is fair. There is no way to make two different courses "equal" in difficulty. It's like trying to make an apple and an orange "equal".
Difficulty is always subjective, if you...
Wrong again.
The mean moderated assessment mark is always equal to the mean exam mark of the school cohort, as are the max and the min. But you do not receive the actual exam mark of the n-th ranked person as your assessment mark.
The moderated assessment mark reflects not only the ranks, but...
Re: NSW to dump UAI!
Myth.
Percentile ranks will now be truncated, not rounded. For example, someone with a rank of 99.83 would have been rounded up to 99.85 in the past. Now, that would be truncated to 99.80.
This won't affect everyone on the top scores - only some of them. See the UAC...
OP, I can see you've put effort into your policy proposals, but you are sadly and greatly misinformed.
Do you understand the different concepts of moderation, alignment and scaling? It doesn't appear like you do.
Did you know that the way the Board of Studies reports the aligned marks to...
I decided to let it go. I got some of the things I wanted - the marks my school sent in, my actual earned exam mark for Economics, and my Illness/Misadventure Appeal documents (which were interesting). The papers I only really wanted to try to derive raw marks.
It's probably easier for us to...
I think it's good value for most people - but it does depend on your individual circumstances, and whether you personally get more enjoyment from buying an access card, than you would spending the $99 on something else.
I think the cost is reasonable. In the past, students were slapped with a...
Not to belabour the point, but Coca-Cola Amatil isn't one of the bottlers of Coke in the US. Amatil bottles predominantely for Australian markets - so you'd be hard pressed to slip on a CCA-produced can on an American footpath.
See, we learn something new every day. :)
well the only parts they have refused in full are the exam scripts and the oral exam tapes - these i would like to pursue
not really concerned about their blocking out the name of the presiding officer on the I/M form lol
james, what course of action do you recommend in relation to our FOI apps for exam scripts?
as regards the "free" letter, i think it's a great idea. i haven't yet sent it but i will be glad to. i think we can get at least some jrahs people to send them too. not too certain though.
