Yeah, kinloch is awesome. In a 5-share atm...who's going to the UL events?
And no...i like my scholarship...unless there's a compelling reason to share it with someone..among other things
Yeah, I checked that possibility as well; would take an extra hour or so to use the Princes Hwy, but if the northern route is cut, that's the only way to go I guess.
Hope they have it under control by then.
I've googlemapped the route, and it's pretty much along the Hume Hwy all the way to Canberra. And on the VicRoads website it says:
The Hume Freeway and the Princes Highway are open to all traffic
Of course, " AS AT 1:15 PM TUESDAY 10 FEB 2009"
So yeh, hoping it should be fine...well, atm it...
Hey, for those of us driving from Melbourne to Canberra, are the roads along the way blocked by trees/debris/fires still burning?
Just wondering, coz if so...hmm....a little bit screwed there..
Bachelor of Arts/Laws, staying @UL (Kinloch). Probs majoring in Philosophy and bits of English, Latin, Linguistics and History thrown in.
Hopefully it proves more interesting than the year of Commerce i did last year.
1. Yeah, same here with the 6.5k...i thought they'd send over a form or something asking for bank details? Maybe they'll ask when you enrol?
2. Another thing, i've sent off the payment to UL already (and they said they "will be able to confirm your accommodation reservation upon receipt of...
lol, how do u know whom ure with?? Do you know after you accept the offer? And yeh, a balcony.. i guess it can't hurt.
And as for printing, i might get my own printer; probs work out cheaper that way (though, are we allowed to do that??). The only charge i'm a worried about is the internet...
Oh? you attended as well?? Did you speak to Marie at the end bout your accomm??
Anyway, i got my double studio apartment @ kinloch (at "only" $380/week =.=) changed to a 4 bedroom balcony @ kinloch
i = very happy :)
Btw, for those ppl in UL, any of you considering changing it to a 48 week...
Got one today....for a fkn double studio apartment in Kinloch...$380/week which is the highest rent that they charge of all the apartments offered =.=
Btw emiline, how did you word your email to get your offer revised? I just sent one off to them, but I'm not too sure I struck the right tone.
Bugger...still no offer...
If I get UL (which seems almost definite now), PLEASE Kinloch shared room....I don't want to cook every single fkn day..
Well, in any case, looks like UL will have plenty of first years this year; a get-together seems increasingly feasible.
Haha, same here. I went over the word limit, and even then, I was trying to use as many abbreviations as possible. My ENTER (UAI) was also in the mid 99's, so I guess it wasn't my UAI that killed my application.
Kinda depresses me, really. I wonder what kind of over-achiever it takes to get...
Hmm...just wondering how people got into Bruce. Surfing the ANU forum for the past 8 days since offers came out, I've heard of ONE non-international student get into Bruce.
Kinda makes you wonder what you needed to get into Bruce. I think someone mentioned gender/degree/interest balancing...
Ahh...that's no good; lack of parental support is a bit...difficult, esp these days.
Also, if you check the prices on the UL site (and I'm guessing/HOPING we're getting Kinloch), getting a 5 room multishare or a 6 room multishare is about 11k, which is about 300 less than most of the other...
I would @__@
Better than being stuck somewhere off campus with little to no access to a social network (apart from a grubby roomate who might be someone who takes a fancy to blowing his nose on old socks)
Why, wouldn't you? Accept the offer, I mean.
Yeah, it's pretty ****ing expensive eh?? And the contract length is for 48 weeks minimum!! @_______@
I've asked another of my friends who does Dent in Adelaide, and he says he spends about 30-40 on food per week....with the caveat being that he says he's cheap...so I guess the average weekly...
Haha cheap, but effective >.< anyway, if I get into Bruce (my first pref), it'll be good because I have friends there (and I lived there for 4 days at a friend's dorm); if I get UL, I'll be happy coz Bruce rooms.....not exactly to my taste, diplomatically put.
And besides, as for the food...
