I hope someone hasn't pointed this out already because for some reason I can't see the third page of this thread. For the people who struggled with finding the Crime 15 Marker in the syllabus, can I just point out the "Principal Focus" of the Crime topic? I too struggled with the question and...
Any chance people would be willing to upload their trials from this year? Obviously the content from previous years would be largely irrelevant but if anyone has the time to do it, it would be good to see the perspectives of some other teachers on questions for the new syllabus. If I remember I...
I can't speak for the Heinemann ones but my Cambridge from 2010 was great. It has all the detail you need for a band 5, but for the band 6 region you may need to look for some other material to to add onto your Cambridge notes. If you're using Cambridge textbooks that aren't new (ie. were...
My teacher who has marked for like 15 years said that it's allowed. She is a risk taker though haha so I'm not sure if she's serious. But anyway, for English, all sections of both papers are marked at different marking centres/different cities in some cases so there's no way the same marker will...
I definitely thought my Japanese oral was more narrow than what I prepared for. But I was still able to direct the conversation in the way I wanted - adding emphasis on some words that I knew I could go on about - then the examiner would be like "hee, sou desuka" - then ask about whatever I...
For those that want/wanted to get above ninety, is your motivation still soaring or are you starting to lag a bit? Scale of 1 to 10 would be good. 10 being pre-senior school uber-optimism 1 being 1 week pre-trial with no notes and wanting to kill yo'self.
So at the moment I have my trials in 7 weeks, another lot of assessments before that, and then one more assessment period after that, I've already had 3 lots of assessments for most of my subjects.
Here are my ranks:
Standard English - 1/60
Legal Studies - 1/17
Japanese Continuers - 1/9...

Hey, I was just wondering where everyone is up to at the moment with the syllabus? I've got a feeling we're lagging behind a bit at my school. We're only just wrapping up crime :s
How does it work?
Do you get to choose which subjects you do?
And how many in a particular year- do you get to choose that?
Can you do a subject one year, and do the ext for it the next or do they both have to be in the same year, even with pathways?
Gogogo.
Hi, in a few weeks I have my prelim research assignment for modern.
I have decided to do Lorenzo Bernini as my personality - the teacher said it could work - any help with a question/statement to base it on for Bernini?
Hey,
I was just wondering if it was possible for students to be forced to do a subject? Take Advanced or Standard English?
Okay take my example, I was moved from advanced to a "temporary half advanced half standard class - just until we make another advanced class because there are too many...
If you work hard and are totally commited and truly like your subjects, you can get amazing results. My friend who was in year 12 last year got 98.75 for her ATAR and she did no science or maths subjects - so dont believe people who tell you that maths is a PRIORITY for doing well in the hsc.
To get into accounting, you need more than a bloody TAFE course. If you want to be an actual accountant and work as one, you'll need to become a "Chartered Accountant" which means yu have to first get a Uni Degree. Degree's in things like Commerce, Economics, even some business courses might be...
