from what u say, it really depends on how good or bad ur year is compared to last year. If you assume your year is very similar to last year, the "predicted atar" is fairly accurate.

How many markers are there for english in one particular marking centre? Are the marking standardised between different marking centres?

Are all parts of English advance exam double marked? How many different marking centres are there in NSW? When there are discrepancies in mark, do boardofstudies take the average of the two, or just the higher one?

did your school predict what HSC mark you would be receiving for each of those subjects? because that would be a better indication.
