    What is the mass cut off for red giants and super giants?

    I've been reading different things in various text books. Some books say that red giants develop from main sequence stars below 5 solar masses and others say its 8 solar masses. Does anybody know the actual cut off?

    Ideally i would like an ATAR of 90. I am just worried at the moment because i am not that strong in english and i am probably going to drop rankings in that upon doing the trial exams. If i did really bad in english, say dropped to 40th what would you say my ATAR estimate would be??
