- Grades (D average I'd say for top tier)
- Extra curricula
- Who you know
- Appearance (do you have big boobs/pecs? know how to dress CBD?)
- Application (whether the computer picks up relevant key words and whether its eye catching, your CL/resume is appropriately...
The whole 'what university is better' is a load of crap. It might have mattered 40 years ago with boarding schools, colleges etc filled with WASPS but lets face it - USyd and UNSW are primarily filled with first generation migrants (asians, arabs) and new money who wouldn't know a macclesfield...
