Being knowledgable Being smart Being intelligent Being gifted These are all different terms which are often confused. you can know everything you need to know for and exam and not be very intelligent. just because you get 100% in an exam does not necessarily mean you are gifted or intelligent...

Must you be Gifted to Achieve Outstanding Results in the HSC?

You do not need to be gifted to get a high ATAR. 'giftedness' does help, but it is not essential. it can also often have the reverse effect. Many gifted students, especially boys, do not achieve as well as some not so gifted students. this is often because of laziness, insecurity or peer...

Does your homework take up most of your study/revision time?

I had the same problem, but I fixed it by doing homework and assessments in the afternoon/night, and getting up early to do study. if I didn't have any homework I did some study as well at night. I did have get up at 4am every morning, but that didn't worry me much. I could do on average 2 and...

    Does God exist?

Molecular biologist Dean Hamer has found a gene which he believes is associated with the self-transcendence aspect of spirituality. while he said that this gene does not specifically code for religion id does come for spirituality which influences our susceptibility to religious influence. I am...

depends on the subject. Science, maths and music, the prelim is very important, not so much in religion and English.

SOR 1: what do you think of using your own religion instead of ones studied in class?

Re: SOR 1: what do you think of using your own religion instead of ones studied in cl Do some practice questions first and get your teacher to read over them. If you feel confident writing them and your teacher thinks they are a good as your Judaism and Hinduism essays you should be fine.

Does the Year 12 HSC exams have topics covered in Year 11 (NOOB question)

Depends on the subject. A lot of what you learn in the prelim course in subjects like science, music and religion, forms the basis for what you will learn in the HSC course. These things can be relearnt, but you will have to work harder than someone who remembers all their stuff from the prelim...

Sugar. I have a serious addiction to any form of sugar (lollies, chocolate, cakes, fruit juice, etc.) And get bad withdrawal symptoms when I don't have any. Apart from that spicy food.

How to remember everything in Maths and score full marks?

I have the same problem and I find that doing lots of practice questions helps. Make sure you have a formula list with you so you can check any formulas you aren't sure of. It's better to check the formula than try to remember it and get it wrong, practicing the wrong formula is never helpful...

Petition - ATAR Should Not Affect University Options

I think compulsory subjects are good and should be both English and maths, but they shouldn't have to be examined. As long as the school says that you have completed the course to a satisfactory level should be enough. also on the science, my chemistry teacher has been teaching for over 20...

    Would you drop English?

I love reading and read more than any other person In my school, especially proper literature, but I hate English. if possible I would drop it in a heartbeat. I believe that if English is to be compulsory that it should not be tested externally and used in your atar unless you want it to. I...

is recording a reading of your notes good?

It depends. Some people find it helps while others don't. I record all my essays and listen to them to memorise them. I find that the most important thing is not to do it absolutely perfect, mistakes that you fix up in your mind help by acting as prompts and markers from which to memorise.

    Developed a crush, EXTREMELY inconvenient!

Yes; but it's not quite as bad. Met a girl a few weeks ago at a friends party, we talked for hours, but I forgot to ask for her number, email or any other contact details. :( It was horrible!

    Ballpoint inks dying

I use a fountain pen and I had the same trouble with my ink, except it faded on the page. it wasn't too bad until I used it in my half yearly chemistry exam and my teacher said I needed a better pen. So I went to an art shop and asked for some good quality ink that wouldn't fade and I got a 35ml...
