    someone pls help me <333

If you are "failing chem", then scaling won't help you anyway. I'd wait until the start of the new year, and do your first round of assessments before deciding whether to drop it or not.

Should I keep 13 units for Year 12?

It seems like you like both French and Society and Culture, and you're just doing Tourism and Events to get that Cert III straight out of high school - do you envision yourself working in the tourism and events industry? If not, I would drop Tourism and Events, and spend that time on French...

Macquarie University or University of New South Wales for Science

Whilst I can't offer much information about Macquarie's Chemistry program, UNSW's 1st Year Undergraduate courses are run much more efficently than Sydney Uni - the labs in particular closely follow lecture content at UNSW, whilst Sydney is on a roster. For sciences, I would recommend going to...

Case study notes VS Non-case study notes

I would prefer case study notes over non-case study notes especially if your case study notes are detailed enough to cover all the dot points of that section. Realistically, you should have an example for each dot point, so if you encorporate the two together that's great. Notes are great to...

    math1041 or math1131

MATH1041 is a walk in the park compared to doing MATH1131. That said, MATH1131 is much more interesting, though I hear it's basically a repeat of the 4u course

    How many performances? (music 2)

The core performance is of two works I thought, or maybe that was the elective one. In which ever case, you'd probably be performing two pieces at one of them, but yeah check with your teacher. For my Comp diary, I saved a new copy every time I did something major to it, and every day (I worked...

    UNSW chit chat thread

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2017 1) idk 2) idk 3) the scif1131 course in 2018 is a new course, which probably merges the better aspects of the scif1121 and scif1131 courses from previous years. Expect it not to be a complete breeze, but it's still a pretty good wam booster.

Do I need to have done HSC Biology to do BABS1201 at UNSW?

I didn't do HSC biology myself, and did fine in that course. The content is covered far faster than in high school, hence if you've learnt it already, you don't need to spend as much time on that subject, but babs1201 is designed to be an introductory course to uni, so they're very helpful to...

    Notebooks or Binders

I had a small binder for everyday school use which had a stack of loose leaf paper, and the notes for whatever the current topic in class was. Once we finished that topic in class, I'd empty it out into a bigger folder at home. Maths I used notebooks though. I got quite lazy near the end, I'd...

Am i allowed to do this in a HSC Exam?

I agree with this, planning arguments/figuring out what quotes and related Texts to use is what reading time is for, and as your flicking through finding your questions, stick your finger there to mark the page, then when reading time is done, fold them or something and then start writing.

Am i allowed to do this in a HSC Exam?

From http://educationstandards.nsw.edu.au/wps/portal/nesa/11-12/hsc/rules-and-processes/rules-procedures-guide-students/rules-and-procedures-guide-2018 : "You will have set reading time for each paper. During this time, you must not write, use any equipment, including highlighters, or mark your...

    Related Texts

I did "The Soloist" which is a short novel, (it's also a film but I did the novel) which centres around how the narrator helps out a homeless man after he interviews him for one of his newspaper articles, and "Freedom Writers" which is a film that centres around racial integration (the line...

    What's Crossroads like?

Yeah that sounds right. But tbh, its not that bad, considering the majority of the grade doesn't take it seriously. I think the only thing I remember from crossroads is that writing with orange pen makes you remember more things or something.

flunked trials and ruined marks :(

*aim for the moon and if you miss you'll still be in the stars* (well actually you'd be stuck in the vaccum of space but...) aka try your best and you won't regret the final number at the end of the year. Chem is defintely the subject you really really have to work on. Otherwise it'll drag all...

Year 11 rankings - do they matter?

Yeah this happened for me too for chemistry, which was ultra annoying. The ranks you get in Year 11 are an okay estimation of your rank in Year 12, as some people skyrocket up the ranks, and everyone else's goes down in comparision.

    What's Crossroads like?

Yup mine was a "camp" disguised as a study skills/pdhpe/welfare event, and went for 2 days. Our camp mainly had seminars from people about drinking, safe driving, and drugs. So your assessment of glorified pdhpe is pretty accurate. I think completing crossroads is a mandatory requirement of...

Can you still get a band 6 if you mess up your music 2 performance?

If you mean it's still possible to get a band 6 overall in music, then defintely, if your comp, other pieces, and your musicology are great. They will probably mark you down a little because of the marking criteria which I'm certain has a section on musicality. However, don't dwell on your...

DROPPING 3u math to 2u???!!!!! Pls help

I was in a similar situation to you as well, getting 95-100% in 2u, but like 65-75 in 3u. I kept it, mainly because if I dropped it, I'd get a different teacher, and my current teacher was amazing, and the 3u unit didn't end up counting anyway. It's pretty useful though to have knowledge of the...
