I came 10th out of around 120 students in a top 20ish selective school this year for advanced.
I'm pretty sure I'll get a band 6. As for not reading texts, I read my AOS texts and Mod B texts a couple of times since they were both really short. I skimmed 1984 in about 2 hours twice, once before...
Yeah either way I wouldn't say there was anything particularly different about this paper to other years, just a focus on different topics I guess. There was a lot of genetics in this exam or maybe I'm saying that because I did the genetics option. Overall though, standard paper imo
Yeah same, I think I might've gotten somewhere in the low-mid 90s raw for bio. A lot of people were saying the exam was easy (not sure what they mean by easy) so idk it's really hard to tell. I saw some people with 96 HSC mark state rank bio last year idk what their raw external was though...
Does anyone know what raw mark you need to get a 20th/10th/5th state rank in different subjects (I know it changes year to year but I'm guessing there's some rough value).
In particular,
Bio, chem, phys
A lot of people are saying a raw mark of ~90-93 will get you a state rank but idk after most...
My approach for the Beadle and Tatum was that their experiment showed that the production of a particular polypeptide could be linked to a particular gene and that advancements in technology such as DNA sequencing, and Chromosome mapping allowed scientists to identify the gene/s responsible for...
For xylem I just drew a circle kinda thing with lignin thickening and for phloem I drew a sieve tube, perforated sieve plate, and a companion cell. Not sure what they're expecting since you can find so many different images for the transverse section of xylem and phloem online. Also about the...
Rip,
I hope I'll be fine since papers get marked as scans and the question I squeezed in at the end had writing from a previous question above it on the same page so it should get noticed.
Hoping for the best lol
GUYS
Does anyone know if its true that for each question if you want extra writing space you get an entire new 3 page writing booklet. I had like 3 minutes left to do a question because I had to fix up my answer and I just put it in one of the extra booklets I already had (the only extra booklet...
The inheritance question was X-linked recessive.
I-2 is given to have no recessive allele and he is unaffected (so affected individuals possess the recessive allele). He has children that are affected by the condition. Suppose the inheritance of the trait was based on the Simple Mendelian...
UMAT was 90, so its really cutting it close. Any idea where in the 99s my ATAR prediction would be based on ranks right now? I heard it should be at the top of the 99s or I'm unlikely to get an interview.
I'm applying for UNSW med which gives out interviews based on predicted ATARs, but my school for some reason won't tell me what mine is and I'm stressing out.
I don't remember cohort size exactly and don't have my report on me but my ranks are correct
English Advanced - 10/120ish Around 30...
Yeah, one of my friends got 20/20 without writing a conclusion for Mod A but that was trials not sure what HSC markers think (though some of my school teachers are HSC markers). The consensus seems to be that a mark or less likely 2 marks might be taken off. Rip oh well
When I finished my last body paragraph for Module B - Speeches, I had 28 minutes left so I didn't write a conclusion because my school teachers said that HSC markers don't care about your conclusion unless its adding to your essay (ie if you just write Ultimately/In Conclusion then repeat the...
Yea same, I don't really have any reasons to pick UNSW over WSU except that I personally prefer it.
I just don't want to go to WSU with the possibility that I might have a not so positive experience there.
Anyone who has done/is doing med at either, any input would be appreciated
I'm applying for Med at both UNSW and WSU but I don't know which one to put as my first preference.
I had UNSW as my first preference before but my dad told me to change it to WSU because the course is 1 year shorter.
I can't really think of any other benefits of WSU over UNSW and personally...
