Didn’t fully like the inflation essay expected a more policy focus. Multiple choice was easy except idk if you include net errors in current account. Short answers were interesting, especially the ‘explain likely changes to the structure of Australia’s industry’
- Case study (Last asked in 2017)
- Microeconomic policy (Last asked in 2019)
- Assess the effectiveness of policies in achieving low inflation and unemployment
- Maybe a "consequences of Current account surplus/BOP essay"
note: you should still prepare for everything.

1. "Assess the impact of recent changes in the global economy on (this part could basically be replaced with anything) Australia's trade and financial flows"
What do yall have prepped for this type of question? Also, what time frame is "recent" (Mining boom?)
Also, do these "changes" have to be...
yeh I just got one for Bachelor of IT (69 atar). Wanted comp sci but didn't realise the IDeA program requires way more steps. Honestly tempted to sack off the HSC cuz my main preference is UNSW or USYD comp sci and isn't information technology basically the same as comp sci
Does scaling occur after my moderated assessment mark and external mark is averaged out?
I want to know this because I’m aware a 77 in extension 2 maths is usually a band 6/E4 and so my internal mark is 69 (rank 3rd) and after moderation I could probably bump it up to 77-78 (expect to get above...
The thing about economics is it’s really easy to understand and memorise content as basically everything links to each other. I personally find eco the most enjoyable subject. Content-wise it really isn’t that difficult in year 12 and I’m sure you’ll eventually get it.
Yeah basically that. I did an extensive intro, including current data about a page. My first paragraph was on the introduction of inflation targeting and its effectiveness, acting as an anchor for inflationary expectations (prevent wage price spiral). I used the fact that inflation averaged 2.6%...
How y’all find it? Overall the short-answers were a breeze except the gini-coefficient question which threw some of my mates off (A/A+B). The stimulus essay was a gift - Assess the effectiveness of MP in achieving price stability and economic growth - produced 8 juicy pages. For the extended...
Yeah I know the gist like tax write offs for small businesses, child care subsidies but probs just gotta flesh it out a bit more. Also what are the topics of the 9 essays you have memorised? Are they predominantly economic issues?
I’ve only memorised essay plans for monetary policy, exchange rate, BOP, China case study 🥲
Fiscal I’m not as confident just need something on resource allocation (probs gotta look at past budgets or sumn)
I personally don’t like protection or any topic 1 stuff. Like all I can think of is...
