Is it a good practice to plunder other cultures for Mod C?

I have seen a zillion mod c's written, hilariously about being a refugee of the Vietnam War, none of which are written by Vietnamese people. Is this common? I personally am deeply uncomfortable with something like this. p.s. don't Vietnamese people refer to it as the American War anyway?

I'm in Fort Street at the moment, should I consider moving to other selective high school?

That depends on what OP wants to do. If he's going for med, sure, aim for the top. If they are doing anything else there's not that much point since an ATAR of somewhere around 95 is sufficient for every other degree. Again, it's up to OP (or his parents lol). But then, I probably don't give...

    Thoughts on iPads for school?

because some people are unnecessarily rude over trivial things on the internet

I'm in Fort Street at the moment, should I consider moving to other selective high school?

If you're happy with where you are, just stay. School isn't just about ATAR marks (until you get to year 12 that is lmao). But it's entirely up to you.

How do we write a reflection for Mod C?

You praise your own immeasurable writing prowess. Don't talk about any of your faults. Talk about how a text inspired your one (with literary techniques from both your mod c and the inspiration text).

Haven't really made substantial notes for biology or chemistry - Trials in 8 weeks

Chem, go to ScienceReady Bio: IDK but whatever you do do not use Atar notes since they suck for every subject. edit: I'm not sure why atar notes as one word is censored

    Thoughts on iPads for school?

I agree on the pencil. The lid design could also be a bit better since the keyboard makes marks on the screen. I put a piece of paper in between when I close it. The battery life is pretty much expected for such a big touchscreen since those take quite a bit of power. It's got an IGPU too, which...

    Thoughts on iPads for school?

That's only true with a touchscreen 360 degree laptop which I have so I get to laugh at all the ipad + macbook peasants as I do the same thing with $1.2k as their "studying setup" which costs $3k Edit: grammar

    Thoughts on iPads for school?

Personally, I hate taking notes with a tablet. Most of the time I take notes with a pencil and book. But you could also get a good 360 degree laptop, with a touch screen and stylus to write stuff with. My laptop is a HP Envy I picked up at black friday for 1.2k, which is a little steep but it's...

    Eyes dying from English exams

Hi guys, every time I write an English practice essay under timed conditions (so 40 minutes to write the whole thing) or in an actual 40 minute exam I find my eyes get really blurry after the exam. I don't have any other eyesight problems, I don't wear glasses or anything like that. This doesn't...

    Help regarding Metafictive Discursive

Rant on about the meaninglessness of modern life and something something fragmentation of identity? English teachers really love it when you mention to them life sucks.

How do you guys memorise essays?

I use a very dumb method of mindmapping: remembering what the words look like on a physical page, what the sentences look like physically, and so on...

How do you guys memorise essays?

I try to memorise one sentence at a time, read it to myself a few times, and move on to the next sentence. After I finish like half a paragraph I go and distract myself for a few minutes. After that I try to write/type it down from memory, find out what I remembered and what I didn't, then...

    Writing Speed

IDK about you guys but I write a lot faster when my hands are warm. I'm going to try and bring in a hand warmer for my next exam if I can and the teachers let me. Another option is of course to bring in a black hole with you in the exam, so its gravitational effects slow down time for you...
