    Do one of the subjects next year. Just check things like prerequisites and admission requirements in order to find one which doesn't need to be done right away. E-mail staff if necessary.

    Is LING109 Language, Culture, and Communication? If so, avoid like the plague. Dreadful unit on many levels. Though perhaps I'm biased as I did so poorly at it. Only do it if you have a deep love of high-level linguistic and textual analysis, or as I prefer to call it, horse crap.

I never said anything about the "degeneration of grammar in today(')s culture", but rather pointed out that the media often sacrifices clearness of meaning and correct usage for the sake of confined space, and that this can possibly be indicative...

    Girl leaving home, being abused and returning home is cliched. Girl leaving home, being abused by a giant talking banana and returning home...isn't.
