Oh how I wished UNSW considers 80+ as a HD. It's annoying when they assign HD to 85+ only as that depresses our grades when compared to other unis, making us look bad next to grads from other unis. Sometimes, in a rush, HR will only skim read the grades and that puts us at a disadvantage.

But that's contradictory to what Henry Yip will tell you. He says you must attend all lectures.... :p

The major question I have is how do the students who get 90%-100% in this course do it?

Perhaps the uni servers are now so fast and efficient that they can concurrently push out 50000 mails tomorrow morning at 9am sharp. If I'm not mistaken, the web services are now outsourced or will be soon enough.

UNSW is cutting costs this year due to severe operational losses and as such, no results will be released via e-mail to reduce infrastructure costs, especially when students often bombard the servers around this time.

Where did you hear this? I don't think people fail 3rd year SENG THAT easily. By 3rd year, if you survived your first 2 years of COMP and SENG and know how to program well, you will survive 3rd year SENG. I have only one advice, i.e. get to know your cohorts, form a good team and work together.

Totally untrue. UNSW's Software Engineering does not have an electrical focus and this is where they differ from Sydney University. UNSW's SENG degree is probably one of the best among unis in Sydney. It has as much industry-relevance as UTS's programs as the computing courses are the same as...

The past papers for this subject has been grossly inaccurate as the lecturers change every session and you can't really expect them to ask you to design the same system each year. As long as you know your OO theory, class diagrams, DFDs, you should be fine. The exam last year was incredibly long...

They did this because they can. UNSW Asia doesn't sound 1/2 as weird as University of Sydney, Singapore. Now that will sound wrong, don't you think? Note they emphasise on the use of the abbreviated form. Same reason why I can see Monash in Malaysia, but not University of Melbourne Malaysia.
