I'm pretty certain it overestimates. I was feeling a bit depressed one day and shoved in some (i consider bad) marks ie. a Band 4 for my worst subject. And the estimate was well in the 98s. So.... Something's definitely wrong there. But my school is really ass. We know that we get 40ish 99+ each...

Accelerating isn't really a big thing usually it's done in small numbers so it's not something to worry about. Occasionally, there's a headmaster like mine who thinks it's wise to accelerate half the year 11 cohort in maths. (we all did pretty well though )

Kinda true. does 10 people a class make it small? but asides from that, the number of Ancient Greek students is 2. and I'll bet $100 it'll be 100% band 6 with those guys. they're ridiculously good.

I was gonna say no, but too late. 2004 was an awful year for our school, 50% more many boys got 99+ the previous year. and 2005 is also did better than 04. If i remember rightly, 04 got in the late teens for rank... truly a dark year for sydney high.
