    i messed up.. thoughts?

Maybe he likes his girls with dignity intact, and its moreso that you were totally hammered than that you kissed a chick.

What the hell is going on

Haha, I did that in geography in the school certificate. I got 51. Not sure if its like that in the HSC though

    confused :s

    edit: i guess not

    The Stress is Overrated

@T-mac: What UAI did you get/What uni/What course? I'm interested. Why is failure <90? Are you a failure if you're not in the top 16% (which is what 90uai equates to)? I think your argument definitely applies for the top (ie 99.xx) students. But how many courses require 99+? If people want to...

    4 (c) Probability

no the question is Tanya "chooses three different squares at random" it was a vague question though, very easy to interpret either way. the only reason i emphasised "different" during the exam was cause it was 2 marks - if it was only 1 mark i wouldve just said 1/8 straight away

Q10 (b) (folded paper) what mark do you think you got for this Q

    Length contraction???

im not going to restate what has already been said - your logic is messed up

    2U HSC required 3U skills

by '3 unit skills' you just mean 'more advanced maths skills'; you're really just complaining that the test was hard. in which case everyone will find it hard, including 3u people - i do 3u and sort of got q10, but i know heaps of 3u people who didn't.

do u loose marks if u dont Copy or trace

you don't lose anything. It helps with clarity though. but i don't think there was anything in that test that really needed it? (dont have the paper with me)

    The projectile motion question

the first part asked for final horizontal velocity (from memory) which is the same as initial horizontal velocity.

    Conflict in the Pacific

    a) I prepared for this morning. Served me well :)

Mathematics - General thoughts on the exam

Yep. If you graph the function roughly you'll see that in that domain it looks like it has a larger negative area than positive anyway, so evaluating the integral would give a negative.

SOLUTIONS to Question 10 Part B with FULL working solutions

Woohoo thats what I got, although really messily and with lots of crossed out working :( I hope they actually mark it.
  14. M

    monthly repayments

14x2800 is a lot less than 200000 or howevermuch he borrowed. I think i got ~94

    Q9&10, partial solutions

    So this is what I got, no guarantees if its right. If someone could correct me on any I got wrong that would be sweet. Post any other answers here Question 9: A) 12y = x^2 - 6x - 3 = (x-3)^2 - 12 12y + 12 = (x-3)^2 (x-3)^2 = 4.3(y+1) a = 3, vertex (3,-1) .: focus (3,2) Bi) sub t=0...

Q10 (b) (folded paper) what mark do you think you got for this Q

That confused the crap out of me. I did the last question first, got x=2 for the value of x and 50 something as minimum area. then i went back and did the 'possible values' question and found x=2 to be out of the domain :( Was running out of time so I just found the area using x=8/3 which is (i...

    The projectile motion question

Projectile motion in the physics course is EASY. As long as you do 2u maths there shouldn't be anything to worry about... (in terms of the level of equation solving you have to do)
  18. M

    Length contraction???

i'm an 0.3 person. im pretty shaky with relativity stuff, however i will put forward one piece of experimental evidence for relativity: muons, entering the earth's atmosphere are able to survive for longer than non-relativistic physics would suggest because the apparent distance that they travel...

    Want to compare multiple-choice answers?

    It should be b.

    Geostationary Orbits (Q17)

Its irrelevant what its used for. What it IS is a measure of acceleration. Quote from wikipedia (yeah not the best source but i'm lazy): kthx Exactly what I said. I dunno if they'll pay marks for the parachute thing though
