    Questions from interested 08ers.

Renovations at B&G have been postponed again, because the shipping container accommodation won't be ready by next year.

    Questions from interested 08ers.

$10 is enough to feed 3 easily, so you are looking at closer to $30 a week for dinners. I spend at the very most $60/week on shopping.

    Questions from interested 08ers.

B&G will be at 3/4 capacity next year due to renovations, so there probably won't be enough rooms for everyone applying.

    Weird Nuclear Question..

If a negative beta particle is produced in the decay, then you need to make a proton to conserve charge. So it's C, as a neutron is converted to a proton.

    Australian National Chemistry Quiz

Test was really hard this year. I heard 17/30 was the cutoff for a high distinction, and there was a question only 10% managed to get.

    a spaced question plz

    It's just Newton's law of universal gravitation: F = GmM/r^2 = 6.67 x 10^-11 x 150 x 5.974 x 10^24 / (6288000 + 272000)^2 = 1388.9N

Lat. Cont. and Lat. Ext.: HSC 2007

Sorry guys, I actually like commentary. I think it's easy marks if you know how to expand on a few key concepts. Much better than dodgy grammar multiple choice.

Lat. Cont. and Lat. Ext.: HSC 2007

How was the test? I usually try and start learning the set texts a few weeks before the assessment so I can just spend the night before quickly reading the latin to make sure I know it all and going over commentary. The points in the unseen lectures were pretty much what was on the handouts...

Lat. Cont. and Lat. Ext.: HSC 2007

ok fine I'll reply Study day was pretty good, especially the lectures on unseens. I think I'll do a lot better in the trial nowthat I have a better idea on how to approach prose unseens. I don't think I got as much from the set text lectures because we had already covered a lot of the...

Engineering Studies Comp. & Summer School

I went on it last year and had a great time. Every morning there was a tour of a university and in the afternoon a site visit of a company related to a field in which you are interested. Night is pretty much free time. The houseparents are all in various stages of an engineering degree and will...

Lat. Cont. and Lat. Ext.: HSC 2007

I received my ACL result today, I received gold along with 2 others :) If it helps, 2 dropped from our class at the end of year 11. My next Latin exam is in a week, Livy up to chapter 9 and Virgil up to 634, grammar, commentary, unseen. We're only about 30 lines from the end of Virgil, then...

Lat. Cont. and Lat. Ext.: HSC 2007

Our class did it, but it hasn't come back yet. We just finished chapter 9 of Livy today! Our next assessment block starts at the end of week 4. Set translation is going to be up to halfway through the 2nd section of Virgil, and probably to the end of Chapter 16 in Livy, as well as an unseen...

Lat. Cont. and Lat. Ext.: HSC 2007

Continuers assessment was fairly straightforward: 4 passages from set texts, total of 15 marks. Passages were: Livy: 1.But as I believe, the origin of such a great city.......he ordered that the boys be sent into the flowing water. 2. The first auspice was said to have come to...

    Help with this equation please

r = ut + 0.5at^2 If you draw a graph of velocity vs time, the area underneath the line will be equal to the displacement. If you are dealing with constant acceleration, acceleration will be the gradient of the graph. Dividing the area under the graph into a rectangle and a triangle, you get a...

Lat. Cont. and Lat. Ext.: HSC 2007

Thanks. We basicly prepare 15 lines of translation before the period, then correct them. 3 periods each of Virgil and Livy a fortnight, 1 grammar, 1 unseen. I type up all the corrected translations so it's easier to read. I started learning the translations 2 weeks before the last exam, first by...

Lat. Cont. and Lat. Ext.: HSC 2007

I've done bits and pieces of the vocab list: 1st 2 declensions, some adverbs, a bit of 3rd declension. We didn't have an unseen in the last assessment task so I haven't had much motivation to learn it all yet. The Latin test was great - 38.9/40 (dropped 1 mark on grammar, 0.1 on set...
