    Which option topic?

What did everyone doing the evolution of programming languages do for that question where you needed a real-world example of using the functional paradigm? I think most of us at my school answered that pretty poorly - it was a bit unexpected. I used the example of solving a magic square in a...

Basic Thoughts & Opinions on Music 1

I liked the paper - I thought it was quite fair, and there wasn't really anything unexpected there. I'm glad we didn't have to compare 2 excerpts though, I really hate those questions. By the way, I loved the excerpt for Q3 - it was totally weird and atonal, and I thought it was really...

    How was the exam?

I thought the questions were easy enough, but the exam was too long overall, and everything was too time consuming. Oh well.

    How did everyone go? (Discussion)

I was kinda hoping that everyone else did bad too. I answered Q10 with a couple of numbers and a bit of scribble, but I think they'll take one look and decide its a virtual non-attempt. I thought that the paper was quite reasonable until the second part of Q9, but after that the difficulty...

Should paper 2 be 3 hours?

I agree with the three hours - I'm a slow writer, but I can write good essays if given a bit more time. Unfortunately you can't get special provisions for writing slow, especially if you're topping the form.

Module B: Critical Study of Texts (Merged)

I did an exposition, but I know at least one person who wrote a transcript for a conversation. The question was pretty open really, and considering that you're backing up your opinion (the way the question asked), I can't see that you'll lose any marks. I did an exposition because of the...

General thoughts on the whole English Adv. Paper 2

Liked it. Thought it was pretty good overall.

    Module C: Representation and Text

I did Ted Hughes too, and thought it was great. The quote was so easy to manipulate, so there was no problem about where to go with it. I'm a bit of a slow writer, but I think I covered it in enough detail.

Module B: Critical Study of Texts (Merged)

Thought the paper was pretty good overall. I was worried about getting some weird text type like feature article, etc., but a straight out exposition is always easy. The question applied to Wuthering Heights quite well, although I feel sympathy for those of you doing Harwood and speeches. I...

Module A: Compartive Study of Texts and Context

I liked the question. It was all quite straight-forward, nothing unexpected here. Hamlet and RAGAD was easy enough to do, considering the values part of the question. :)

    Question 3 |4 | 5

Also, there was a question a bit like this a few years ago (when the area of study was 'Changing'). It was something along the lines of "how has your understanding of ... been illuminated?" A lot of students also answered that one in first person, but our teacher said that this was wrong, since...

    Question 3 |4 | 5

I thought that it was a bit odd that they asked for your own opinion in a question that was obviously asking for an exposition response. The question itself did not really correlate well with text type required, but I think that the markers will understand that there was a fair bit of confusion...

    Question 3 |4 | 5

I did Inner Journeys, and I agree that the question was too broad. It would have been OK if it had just been the individual and 'yourself', or 'yourself' and the world, or the world and the individual, but not all three together. There was way too much to talk about, especially if you had a text...

    Question 2 (Merged)

I also used the hand stimulus, and I think almost everyone in my year did as well. I wrote a story about the end of the world - it was kind of interesting, although I don't know if it relating strongly enough to the stimulus. It was 3 1/2 pages long.
