approximate

Hello, When writing a hypothesis, should exact or approximate values be used? For e.g. I wrote "the hypothesis developed proposed that acetylsalicylic acid content was ~300mg per tablet based on..." In this case, should I be using the approximate or remove it and state "was 300mg per etc."...
