Hi all 2003 HSCers (or other who just share the interest of knowing the technicality of HSC and stuff)

As far as it may seem, the HSC is approaching the end (the least to say, has already passed half way!)

The worst (or the best?) is yet to come...

What would you be doing on 18th December?
How early would you get up? (As it all starts from 6am...)
What methods are you gonna use- SMS, internet...?
Or simply wait for the snail mail to come?
Lastly, will you go back to school on that day?

Post post post

Good luck and best of luck for everything

im not going to check until the uais are out...i don't want to see my hsc marks first because scaling will make my uai lower i think

Yes although the HSC exams are nearly over, the HSC ain't technically over. In many ways it's as nerve-racking doing the exams as it is getting your results back...
I think it'll be a long sleepness night on the 18th in expectation of your HSC results

What worry me is the unexpected, unpredictable nature of HSC results. this scares me first, UAI comes next!

Last year, my teacher said a lot of people were really disappointed when they got the UAI coz they got into band 6 for their exam marks (with not so good scaling subjects)

Yeah I think it'll be unwise for ppl to pre-judge their UAI with just their HSC results. Cause the scaling for each course changes each year. My sister was pretty disappointed with her UAI last year, even though she didn't do that badly for her HSC...

Whoa those are pretty good scaling subjects! apart from Software Design which I think was the one that let her down.

If she got a decent mark for each of those. and got a not so decent UAI. we should start worrying.

Hmm, I don't think i quite understand

So the HSC results we recieve on the 18th or whatever havn't undergone the good/bad scaling that that subject gets applied to it? But the results used to determine the UAI HAVE undergone this scaling?
Then how is the scaling determined for the HSC results we get on the 18th, if the scaling your mark undergoes by the particular subject only happens for the UAI?
aaaaahhhhhh????!
