Why 1990? That's a hell of a long way back

Anywho usyd has been pretty stable. It was 99.55 last year and it has never been over 99.6 in the last 5 years. So scoring a uai of 99.55 should be fair game.

UNSW was 99.2 last year and its been around that number for the last 5 years also. Expect a +-/0.2 uai fluctuation at the VERY most for unsw law 07

What about HSC of 2002? I heard that the USYD Law cutoff for that year was much lower than the last three years--UAI of 99.35, while UNSW was 99.30, if I remember correctly. But yes, HSCs 2003 and 2004 was UAIs of 99.60, and last year was a UAI of 99.55, for USYD.

UNSW has been madly fluctuating--I thought it used to be a UAI of 99.30, until 2003 when it became UAI of 99.35, then 99.15 in 2004 and 99.25 last year. Something like that.

anything before, say, 2000, is probably irrelevant in working out the trend.

i had a chance to look at a 1993 version of "the good university guide" and the uai for law for usyd in that year was only 98.xx, i bet i am the first person to touch that book in ten years.

USYD cutoffs since 2001 (from uni website):

2001 99.15
2002 99.4
2003 99.6
2004 99.6
2005 99.6
2006 99.55

UNSW since 2001:

2001 99.00
2002 99.30
2003 99.30
2004 99.35
2005 99.15
2006 99.20

Cutoffs have always been consistently high for both universities, though USYD's are slightly higher than UNSW's every year. Though yes, both courses have had a good leap in cutoffs after 2001.

hahaha. agreed.

wow it went up quite a bit from 2001-2002 for both unis !
99.15 --> 99.4 for syd
99.00 --> 99.3 for unsw.

looks like the uais are quite stable now tho (at least that means no more 'jumps',, hopefully a little fall !)
