Im just enrolling in materials science/ biomedical engineering and realised i might have to choose and elective or two for first semester. i dont really know which ones i want to do yet, so would it matter at all if i substituted computing for engineering for an elective in the first semester and choose both electives in the second?

i was considering doing engineering materials and chemistry as one elective, but i read that the first 10 weeks are pretty much revision of HSC chemistry, which i did, so i wasnt sure whether it was worth doing, any comments?

this is what you're doing, right?

you should do the recommended electives, since they're required for your degree. They're not really electives since you basically HAVE to do them.

Your "electives" will be in second semester, not first.

Your enrolment for first year should be:

Semester 1: math1131, phys1121, engg1811, engg1000.
Semester 2: math1231, mats1192, cven1300/mman1300/mine1300 (up to you, i think cven is the easiest), chem1011/chem1031/ceic1001 (again up to you)
