I did my Extension English 1 Trials Today. I do Postmodernism, and the trials were written by my school (or modified from CSSA).

The questions were very strange.
"Some postmodern texts have regarded people as 'victims of their society"

So, after panicking, I just wrote about how PM frees the characters from the constraints of their society. Don't know how I'll do...

How/when is everyone elses?

RFTG: "Write a creative compostition that reflects ___ (somethting about RFTG)"

Use one of the following as a stimulus:

"As usual, he was bewildered." <---- WEIRD!!!!
___ (something similar)
____ (something similar)

I think I (and everyone else) was just gawking at the question for a full ten minutes. They NEVER give us the opportunity to write short stories. It's always essays. Or sometimes, genres text types. Or essays. Or essays. Or essays.

Not that I don't mind writing stories, but... weird!

The essay was a lot easier, something about historical contexts of composers having an influence on their work. We'd done an assessment on pretty much the same question recently, so it wasn't too bad... 8 pages is 1 hr. Whoop! Hope they can read it though... :S

HAHAHAH.

This is the exact wording of our first question:

"Postmodernism rules. OK.

Discuss"

wtf? anyway...
ours (indiv. & society): 'Composers try to creativelt challenge the times in which they live but inevitably reflect the ways of thinking of their society.'
'Compose a creative piece reflecting on indiv in society using one of the stimulus'
-as usual, he was confused
-it was always going to be this way
-there was no point struggling

A key feature of pomo is the tension between the traditional and the contemporary. Discuss.
