You can't do a single one of them?! :eek:
I can, the aim of this "fun run" is to test your 2U maths preliminary knowledge, and of course i know them ... if i did not know the answers to any of them, i wouldn't be doing 2 unit

You are correct for all of those first 10

Try some more, like the ones on linear graphs ... Because many post-HSC students don't master it ...

84-76

84) (2^x - 8)(2^x - 2)
83) (4x^2 - 1)(x^2 + 3)
82) (5^x - 5)(5^x + 4)
81) p has to be greater than 4/5
80) equal or rational? i dont get what its sayin...
discriminant = root (81+8) = root 90, hence it has real roots, roots r not equal and they r not rational?
79) dicriminant = root (9-4) = root 5
hence it has real roots, roots r not equal and they r not rational
78) -2/(2x-1)^2
77) 5.(4x+1).(2x^2+x-7)^4.(3x-4)^7+21.(2x^2+x-7)^5.(3x-4)^6
76) 30x+21

I have the answers for questions 11 - 15

11) b = 27

12) y^2 + y + 1/4 = 1/4

(y + 1/2)^2 = 1/4

y = 0 or -1

13) 3x^2 - 5x + 1 = 0

Using the quadratic formula:

x = (5 +/- sqrt 13)/6

14) q = 11, p = -8 (maybe the second equation was supposed to start with 2p, rather than 2q?)

15) y = 40

NOTE: i'm only in year 10, so forgive me if i've done something wrong.
