I'm a 3U student who's going to actuarial studies this year, and even tho prerequisites are listed as Ext 1 maths, I heard some 4U stuff may be used. Im planning to self study these topics to make sure I'm not disadvantaged against the 4U kids, can anyone tell me exactly what 4U concepts are being used in actuarial?

I haven’t studied actuarial studies, but the course description of maths 1025 (which according to the Uni website is compulsory: https://www.mq.edu.au/study/find-a-course/courses/bachelor-of-actuarial-studies#course-structure) includes vectors, complex numbers and more advanced calculus, which are covered in 4U. However, you could take math 1010 or 1015 (which are listed as electives) as a foundation for math 1025. If the courses are semester based, then it would seem appropriate to study 1010 or 1015 in first semester and 1025 in second semester.

My son tutors 4U and has also mastered comparable Uni maths courses to 1015 and 1025 at another Uni - DM if you are interested in someone who can provide tuition support as you work through the 4U/1010/1015/1025 content.

Don't pay for tutoring in uni, I'm not sure how macq does it but in unsw, the school provides tutors and drop-in centres for extra help alongside societies (mathsoc) who provide supplementary material such as crash courses and notes. I'm sure there will be something similar in macq and 4U stuff is really nothing to sweat over, you'll be fine
