hey ppl
wat if we go really bad in 4u hsc exam? say if we fail, will we still be scaled up ??


plz let me know soon!!
so dat i can decide whether or not 2 go for 4u?

If you fail you still have a chance of gaining an alright scaled mark.

Many people fail there trials in 4U, do not panic if your marks are a lot lower than your used to in maths.

unless you are interested in putting all your eggs in the maths basket i wouldn't be particularly keen on doing 4 unit if you expect to go poorly and hope scaling will save you.

the bottom marks in 4 unit is bad just like any other subject. if you get below 30% scaling won't help you much at all.
the average is usually around 50% if you can get near that or above the scaling helps a great deal.

a rough guide whether to do 4 unit or not is your performance in the other maths.
a good 2 unit student (mark > 75% in 2U) can usually do 3 unit.
However you generally have to be very good at 3 unit to do 4 unit.
if you aren't getting over 90% in 3U its probably not the best idea.
but again it depends on whether you want to put all your eggs in one basket.
