im doing SOCIETAL PRESSURES AND EXPECTATIONS OF THE FEAMLE BODY IMAGE
and i am stuck thinking about what i should do for my cross cultral comparison... any ideas? thanks

since this topic is similar to the IRP you have mentioned in the CAFS forum, i would probably advise against doing it. it's a good topic, but a little broad at the moment. this sort of topic is done to death, i think...

it's not recommended that you do similar topics for the IRP as well as the PIP, because they are supposed to be projects where you have had to go and and search for answers. they may limit the way you approach the different pieces of research.

if you are just starting your PIP, i think it would be cool if you looked at this issue from a different angle. as mentioned, its a little over done.

perhaps do a study of the age females feel pressure lowering (tweenagers- young girls acting like teenagers, wearing makeup, caring about appearance more, its a whole subculture). it would be interesting to look at that.
then a cross-cultural study could be looking at women who are now about 18, asking them what pressures they felt when they were "tweens".

a good cross-cultural is a time thing. whatever you study, its interesting to go back ten, fifteen years and see how your issue was back then.
post back on what you decide. i'd be interested to see.

um,...im still undecided...i can see exactly where your coming from when it comes to having this topic being done so many times before...the angle that you mentioned to look at sounds pretty good..i might just do that thankyou its very much appreciated
