I feel top 8%, heck thats almost 1 in 10, it seems even easier when you put it like that.fush said:yea it seems pretty easy to get a band 6..... but loooking at SAM only the top 8% get it...

...is aligning a constant or a %?... meaning if 75 goes to 85... does 55 go to 65?... thats about what im looking @...
aligning is where they put hte top 10% between 90 and 100, the next 10% between 80 and 100 etc etcBone577 said:For a mark of 0, assuming a straight added %, the best you could hope is a 15%, which is still band-1. Hahaha. I assume it is ROUGHLY a straight addition of marks. Though i am in no place to comment on this as i don't realy know.
Aligning does not guarantee 10% will get over 90, theoretically everyone can get over 90. As stated last year about 8% got over 90. Aligning alters the raw marks based on the difficulty of the exam compared to the previous ones so the marks for the subject is comparable each year. And also just because you get an aligned mark of 90 does not guarantee you HSC Physics mark will be 90, the aligned mark only counts for half of the HSC mark and the other half is your moderated assesment mark that is determined by your ranking and how well all your classmates didmatt_f64 said:aligning is where they put hte top 10% between 90 and 100, the next 10% between 80 and 100 etc etc
