could someone please help me with this one:

Identify the IUPAC nomenclature for straight-chained alkanols from C1 to C8

i have absolutely no idea what this dot point means ... i don't believe i was taught it

It's just saying that you need to be able to name alcohols up to eight carbons in length ie. methanol, etanol, propanol, butanol, pentanol, hexanol, heptanol, octanol.
