I believe the number of iterations has a far greater impact than the number of hours studying; my teaching involves a focus on conceptual understanding and more importantly, repeated applications to exam-style questions. The HSC syllabus has remained largely unchanged over the past 2 decades, and while you still need relevant and recent examples/events/data, the type of questions asked in many exams are recycled from past papers.
